ABOUT US

Ed McHugh grew up in Bellevue, WA and in 1994 became the owner of Brookfield Associates. Initially, he  started in the field as a custom stair installer learning the trade at a young age. After perfecting the craft and becoming an expert in the field, Ed knew the potential for expansion and continued growth.  In 2008, he made the decision to transition from Independent Contractor to a Construction Company that manufactures staircase parts, sales, design, installation, custom fabrication, and artwork.

Emily grew up in the Midwest, and spent much of her younger years moving around the country as an Officer in the United States Coast Guard. After leaving the service and retiring in 2019, Emily was on a path of continued public service as a Nurse Practitioner. In 2017, Emily McHugh joined the team at Brookfield Stairs to help with the continued expansion of the company and the products they provide.

Ed, Emily, and the team at Brookfield Stairs are continually creating new and unique stair and rail systems that are the heart of what drives us to be a step ahead. In 2016, with the help of his team, Ed created the Denali Panel System–a new and exciting way to transform the look and installation of linear metal panels. 

Ed and Emily continue to reside in the Pacific Northwest and enjoy spending their time in both the mountains and on the water when they are not working hard to create beautiful staircases…
